TEHRAN (Tasnim) Portuguese head coach Ricardo Sa Pinto will travel to Iran to negotiate with the Iranian football club Esteghlal.

The 52-year-old coach was appointed as Esteghlals coach in June 2022 but had to leave the club after receiving a four-month suspension from the Disciplinary Committee of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI).

Prior to this, Esteghlal had reached an agreement with Brazilian coach Fbio Carille, but the club has since reversed its decision.

Although Esteghlal recently won Irans Hazfi Cup under the leadership of Mojtaba Jabbari, the club is now aiming to hire a foreign head coach once again.

Now, the Iranian club has announced that Sa Pinto will travel to Tehran to finalize his contract.
