Macao lowers down typhoon warning as Tapah moves away

MACAO, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Monday afternoon downgraded the typhoon signal to No. 3, with Tapah moving away and social life gradually returning to normal.

Meanwhile, the Macao Civil Protection Operations Center announced that in accordance with the Chief Executive Dispatch, the "state of immediate prevention" was ended.

The SAR's Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau expected that Macao would experience showers and thunderstorms on Monday night and early Tuesday, with heavy rain at times and winds occasionally reaching force 6 with gusts.

The public was advised to pay attention to the latest tropical cyclone updates and outdoor safety.

After Signal No. 3 was hoisted, public transport services that had been suspended gradually resumed. The four cross-sea bridges reopened to traffic.
